DRESS CODE
Is is imperative that all Dance Avenue students wear dance clothing to class and have their hair up and off the back of the neck. Instructors must be able to see the dancer's form for optimum instruction and loose hair can distract a dancer when rehearsing. NO STREET CLOTHING ALLOWED. In the event a student wears street clothes to class, a dress code violation slip will be sent home to a parent. Dancewear and shoes are available for purchase at Dancin' Feet (in Southgate), Lynch's (in Dearborn), Dosans (in Flatrock) or through the Discount Dance Supply Catalog & Website (800 328-7107) & www.discountdance.com. Capezio Ballet Pink, Carmel & Transitional Carmel Tights are available for purchase at Dance Avenue, as well as Lyrical "Foot Undeez" and other stylish Dance Avenue apparel and duffel bags.

ATTENDANCE
We encourage all students to arrive early to class in order to be prepared for the start of class.
Absence Policy: If a student misses a class more than five times, s/he may not be allowed to perform in the annual Dance Avenue Recital. Good attendance is imperative as absences and tardiness can hold back an entire class. There are no "make up" classes for absent students, however, the instructors will do their best to help a student "catch up" on missed material. PLEASE CALL the studio if your child will be absent. Also, please let the front desk know if someone other than a parent will be picking-up your child from class.
CLASS OBSERVATION
Class observation days will be at the discretion of the instructors. Parents will see more progress when viewing is limited. Scheduled family and friend viewing weeks will be held in the months of December and May.
NEWSLETTERS
At the beginning of each month a studio newsletter will be handed out or available for pick-up at the front desk. Please ask your child, each month, if they have received a newsletter. These newsletters contain very important Dance Avenue information that parents should be aware of monthly.
WEATHER CONDITIONS
In case of a "Snow Day" (Mon-Thurs), please call the studio after 12:00pm (NOON), or one hour before class (Saturday) and the voicemail recording will indicate as to whether or not classes will be cancelled for that day/evening. If a majority of the Downriver schools are closed, including Southgate schools, then Dance Avenue classes will be cancelled as well.

WiFi INTERNET ACCESS
Dance Avenue offers, to all our waiting parents in our lobby, FREE internet service for your laptops, cell phones, handheld video games, etc. For access to the wireless internet, please inquire at the front desk for the pass code.
REGISTRATION FEE
A $10.00 (per student/family) registration fee is required upon time of Fall Registration. This fee will hold your child's place in their registered dance class and is non-refundable. (If you can pay your first month's tuition at the time of registration we will waive the registration fee.)
TUITION
Each month's tuition is due by the last day of the preceding month. (Example: October's tuition is due by September 30th.) There will be a $20.00 late fee if tuition is not paid by the 5th of the month. (NO EXCEPTIONS) Failure to pay monthly tuition may result in a students dismissal from class. Please note: tuition remains the same whether it is a short (2 week) or a long (5 week) month, and regardless of absences. Tuition is non-refundable. Cash, Check, Debit, Visa & MasterCard are accepted. There will be a $25.00 fee for all returned/bounced checks. For payment made by check please indicate child's last name if not the same as parent. All account balances must be paid in full before the June Recital, or your child may not be able to perform in the Annual Dance Avenue Recital. TO AVOID LATE FEES, PLEASE MAIL YOUR TUITION PAYMENTS TO THE STUDIO BEFORE OR ON THE 5TH OF THE MONTH.

Three Classes Weekly $90.00 / Month
Four Classes Weekly $100.00/ Month
(Add only $10.00 for each class thereafter)
Competitive Dance Team: $25.00 / Monthly Flat Fee

COSTUMES
Costume cost will be added to tuition for the months of September - December. COSTUMES ARE NON- REFUNDABLE. Regular tuition rates will apply January - June. Another option is to pay your child's costumes in full with October's tuition. Costumes are ordered in early November, therefore they are ordered a bit larger for growth, and alterations may have to be made.
AGES 11 & UNDER $16.00/month PER COSTUME (Sept-Dec) or $64.00 PER COSTUME (paid in full)
AGES 12 & OVER $18.00/month PER COSTUME (Sept-Dec) or $72.00 PER COSTUME (paid in full)
DISCOUNTS
The studio offers a discount of ONE MONTH FREE if payment is made at the time of Fall Registration for the entire school year's tuition (Sept-June). DEADLINE: In order to receive this discount, the FULL school years tuition must be made in the month of September. Discount applies to the month of June.
REFERRALS
Enroll a friend for the school year and receive ONE MONTH FREE - redeemable in the month of June. This applies only if the referred student stays for the entire school year. (One referral per family.)

DANCE AVENUE COMPETITIVE DANCE TEAM
Only dedicated dancers need apply! Dancers (ages 8 & older) may audition for the Dance Avenue Competitive Dance Team and attend Regional Competitions throughout the school year, plus a National Competition in Myrtle Beach, SC. RECITAL
Our Annual Dance Recital will be held, in the month of June, at the fabulous Lincoln Park High School Auditorium. There are no additional fees added for the Recital, only the purchase of tickets. Further details will be announced throughout the school year. Check your monthly newsletters or the website for the most current Recital news. Also, a DVD of the Recital will be made available for purchase.
